Legal & Safety

Policies and
account controls.

Yummy helps people build a personal food map — creating check-in posts, discovering trusted recommendations from friends, and exploring public posts from local foodies.

Privacy first

Private posts stay private. Content is visible only according to the visibility you choose.

Account deletion

Delete your account from Settings. Yummy removes your profile, posts, photos, and social data.

Age requirement

Users confirm they meet the minimum age requirement during onboarding before accessing the app.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Yummy (also referred to as FoodleMap during development) collects, uses, stores, and deletes your information.

Information We Collect

  • Account information: username, display name, profile photo, sign-in provider, and profile settings.
  • Check-in content: captions, photos, food tags, ratings, visibility settings, and selected place information.
  • Location data used to create check-ins, saved pins, and map views.
  • Social data: friend requests, accepted friends, blocked users, follows, public map bookmarks, votes, and reports.
  • Device permissions (location, photo library) — only when you explicitly grant access.

How We Use Information

  • To create and display private, friends-only, and public map posts.
  • To let you discover food places from friends and public local foodies.
  • To support safety features: blocking, reporting, and account deletion.
  • To improve app reliability, security, and user experience.

Visibility

You choose post visibility. Private posts are only for you. Friends posts are visible to accepted friends who are not blocked. Public posts can appear in public discovery surfaces.

Location

Yummy uses location permission to support live check-ins and map positioning. You can also create past check-ins by selecting a place manually. The app stores place coordinates for map pins and location discovery.

Photos

Profile avatars and check-in photos are stored in Supabase Storage and are associated with the posts where you upload them.

Third-Party Services

Yummy uses Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage. The app may also use Apple Sign In, Google OAuth, Apple Maps, Google Maps SDK, and Expo services depending on platform and configuration.

Data Retention

We keep account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, Yummy removes your profile data, posts, photos, social relationship data, and related app data.

Terms of Service

By using Yummy, you agree to use the app responsibly and only post content you have the right to share.

User Content

  • You are responsible for all captions, photos, tags, ratings, votes, and other content you submit.
  • Do not upload illegal, abusive, misleading, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit content.
  • Do not impersonate others or falsely represent a restaurant, person, or place.

Public Posts and Discovery

Public posts may be visible to other Yummy users and may contribute to public discovery or local foodie ranking features. You can change post visibility in the app at any time.

Reports and Moderation

You can report public or friend-visible posts. Yummy may review reports and remove content, restrict accounts, or take other action when content violates these terms.

No Professional Advice

Yummy posts are personal opinions and recommendations. Ratings, tags, and votes do not guarantee food safety, business quality, availability, or accuracy.

Termination

You may delete your own account at any time. Yummy may restrict or terminate access for abuse, security risks, or violations of these terms.

Account Deletion

You can request account deletion directly inside the Yummy app — no email required.

  1. Open Yummy
  2. Open the sidebar from the map screen
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Scroll to the Account section
  5. Tap Delete account
  6. Confirm the deletion prompts
This action is permanent. Deletion removes your profile, settings, check-in posts, photos, saved pins, friendships, follows, blocks, votes, reports, and related app data.

Some shared records — such as canonical place data used by multiple users — may remain as they are not personal account data. If you cannot access the app, contact wejudgeapp@gmail.com from the email used for your account.

Age Requirement and Safety

Yummy is intended for users who are at least 13 years old, or older where local law requires a higher minimum age. The app includes an age confirmation step during onboarding.

Safety Features

  • Choose Private, Friends, or Public visibility for each check-in post.
  • Block other users to remove all cross-user visibility and notifications.
  • Report public or friend-visible posts for review.
  • Live check-in requires location permission; past check-ins can be created manually.

Responsible Sharing

Avoid posting sensitive personal information, real-time location details, private addresses, or photos of people without permission.
